Shashlik Sticks:

Shashlik Sticks is a spicy and tangy dish, liked by all adults, youngsters and kids. It is made differently across the world with unique flavours and spices. Everyone has a different recipe for it. I'll be sharing my own recipe, hope you'll enjoy.

Ingredients:

For Chicken Marination:

  • Chicken pieces cut into small bite sized pieces. 500 gm
  • 1 tsp paprika powder,
  • 3/4 tsp salt.
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce.
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli flakes..
  • 2 tbsp yogurt.
  • 1 tbsp oil.
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder.
  • 1 tbsp chilli garlic sauce.
  • 1 tsp chilli sauce.
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder.
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder.
  • 1 lemon juice squeezed.
Vegetables required:
  • 1 large onion cut into cubes about an inch or so.
  • 1 large capsicum cut into cubes about an inch or so.
  • Oil for grilling.
  • Skewers/sticks.

Method:

  1. Cut chicken into bite sized pieces, mix all the ingredients mentioned above and make a marinate. Let it rest for about an hour or two.
  2. Next take shashlik sticks, First thread in the capsicum then a piece of chicken and finally an onion cube. Repeat until you at least have 3 chicken bites on each skewer.
  3. Make all the shashlik stcks and place on a tray.
  4. Now heat a flat non-stick pan (tawa) add 3 tbsp oil and place the skewers on the pan, cook on each side for about 4 minutes.
  5. Once the chicken gets golden brown and the veggies change colour, the shashlik sticks are done.
  6. Serve hot, with any sauce you like.

  1. MA SHA ALLAH, mouth watering. First it was Garlic Mayo, now this, and next we have to put this combination into a roll, with minor additions, to make a shawarma or a paratha roll😊. Agree?😀
