Chicken leg Steam Roast:
Steam roast is one of the most liked dishes around the globe in my opinion. It is very easy to make and so very delicious. I make it as a diet food too, one chicken leg with some steamed veggies is good to go if you are on diet and are craving for something meaty and healthy. So let’s start.
Ingredients:
- 5 Chicken Legs (Make slits in it).
- Garlic 1 tsp.
- 4 tbsp oil.
Spices:
- 1.5 tsp salt.
- 1 tsp cumin powder.
- 1 tsp red chilli flakes.
- 1 tsp coriander powder.
- ½ tsp red chilli powder.
- ½ tsp paprika powder.
- 2 lemons squeezed.
- 1 tsp oregano.
Method:
- Wash and clean the chicken legs, pat dry and make slits in it.
- Next, mix all the spices mentioned above in a bowl. Squeeze in the lemons and add garlic and oil in it.
- Make a thick paste and brush it on the chicken legs with help of a cooking brush so that the spices blend in well inside the chicken slits.
- Leave the chicken for about 2 hours in fridge so that the marinade blends well in the chicken.
- After 2 hours take the marinated chicken legs out of the fridge and place it at room temperature for about half an hour.
- Meanwhile preheat the oven at 180℃ for 20 minutes. (only turn on the lower burner).Now take a baking pan/tray and brush a little oil on it to prevent the chicken legs to stick to it.
- Now place the chicken legs on the tray/pan and cover the tray with aluminium foil completely.Place it in the oven for 1 hour. The chicken will be done within an hour so no need to check it during the duration.
- Once an hour has passed, take the tray out of the oven and remove the aluminium foil from it. Brush the chicken legs with a little oil.
- Next, turn off the lower burner of the oven and turn on the upper/top burner on medium flame.Place the uncovered chicken legs inside the oven for 15 minutes so to impart a golden brown colour on the chicken.
- After 15 minutes turn off the oven, take the pan out of the oven.
- Let it cool for 5 minutes, and serve.
